Pink & Red Charity Event Garments

For the next few posts, I want to share some information on some garments I have been working on, which is part of a group effort, for a charity event we will be attending at the end of February, at the Puyallup Sewing Expo.

This dress is Olivia's ca 1937 dress, representing the year her Great Aunt Dee was born. Aunt Dee is a breast cancer survivor, nearly 2 years past diagnosis.

The dress is made from linen/cotton fabric both the pink and the red fabric. The barrette is made from wool and was purchased locally. I just added the covered button.

In this picture, Olivia is holding her very favourite blanket that her Great Aunt Dee made for her, just before she was born. This blanket has been precious to Olivia and she still likes to sleep with it, every night. The pink scarf Olivia is wearing is one she made using her knew knitting machine that she got for Christmas. She enjoys using her knitting machine and producing things much faster then her mum can. :)

Here is Olivia working on her knitting with her new machine.

More projects to come.....................
